    Meet the Vendors: Shipwreck Dice

    The name Shipwreck Dice comes from a D&D character, Trixie Rosznar, a swashbuckling rogue who started her adventures after a disaster near Waterdeep. IYKYK.

    Shipwreck Dice The Business is run by Captain Sasha Smoot of Omaha, NE. During the day, Captain Smoot is an elementary strings teacher, but during their free time they make dice and other gaming accessories at home. This will be Shipwreck’s fourth vendor landfall and its third time as a vendor at Nuke-Con.

    Featured Game: The Pathfinder and Starfinder Societies

    Who are the Pathfinders? We are explorers and adventurers. Heroes and scoundrels. Wizards and Champions. Pathfinder Society is the organized play system for Paizo’s Pathfinder epic fantasy role-playing game and is now in its 16th year.  

    Who are the Starfinders? We are explorers and adventurers. Techomancers and Soldiers. Protector of the Pack Worlds. Starfinder Society is the organized play system for Paizo’s Starfinder epic science-fantasy role-playing game and is now in its 7th year. Paizo is developing a second edition of Starfinder to more closely align with Pathfinder 2e. We will be offering a number of Playtest adventures for players to try out the new system.

    New players are always welcome. We typically play scenarios that last 2-5 hours. Your characters are portable to any Pathfinder or Starfinder Society event across the globe.

    We recently celebrated 20 incredible years as part of the world’s best gaming community, and we’re deeply thankful for the support and camaraderie that has made this journey possible! We opened on June 18, 2004 in the heart of Bellevue, near Offutt Air Force Base, and we were warmly welcomed by the community. . On July 18, 2015, we proudly opened our second location in West Omaha, enabling us to serve more gamers across different parts of the city.

    The Game Shoppe hosts weekly game events, leagues, and tournaments. We also offer regularly scheduled game nights, giving the community even more opportunities for gaming — and who doesn’t want that? Our helpful and knowledgeable staff are always ready to provide recommendations or demonstrate a game, making them just one more reason why we’re the Omaha metro’s best gaming destination.

    Board of Directors: Nominations Now Open

    Did you know that when you attended Nuke-Con 2023, you became a member for the full year until the next convention begins?

    As a member of Nuke-Con, do you want to help guide the direction of the convention?

    The Board of Directors, comprised of five people who are appointed directly and two more who are elected by fellow Nuke-Con members, has responsibility for the general oversight and financial well-being of the organization. The Board of Directors also helps to ensure effective and efficient management of the organization’s operations. In other words, the Board of Directors guides what Nuke-Con does.

    The Board is currently preparing for the election of one Director by the general membership.

    The Hermit’s Homebrew Podcast is a growing D&D and TTRPG podcast based out of the Omaha area. Hosted by Nathan (@CrazyhermitDM), the podcast always strives to provide a positive message about gaming, whether among your friends or in the wider gaming community.

    Nathan is regularly joined by his two close friends Chase (Kilk) and Brent (@Langeministudio). Subjects often range from current affairs in the TTRPG community, to ways to improve your own home game, to even talking about their own D&D home game.
